Saturday night when we were sitting on the couch Bo said that we should go to the zoo on Sunday because it was supposed to be a nice day, and we probably won’t have many of them left before winter. So we did. We called my Mom too and invited her along.
Apparently someone thinks that he’s too big for the stroller.
Yeah yeah Bo, whatever. No more pictures, blah blah blah…
Time for the first carousel ride of the day (first of three, dear lord)
He wasn’t thrilled to be on this one. Don’t get me wrong, this child loves carousels, it’s just that the last one he was on was held together with three rusty bolts and spun way too fast and rocked side to side (even though carousels should really not do that), and, he loved it. This was just too slow for him today.
Checking out some monkeys. This trip to the zoo was a blast because for the first time Oliver really paid attention to the animals. It was pretty hilarious watching his face changed from amazed to confused and back to amazed over and over again.
Sorry, I’ve got to go home now. How can I be expected to focus after looking at this?
Back to walking on his own, he would not hold anyones hand. Little punk.
I’m dreading the day when Oliver’s the surprise nose picker in the back of someone else’s picture.
My boys. My heart is always wherever these two guys are.
I can see that going through these pictures is going to be very unproductive. This will be my second trip home to hug him. In my mind. Because I’m 50 minutes away at work. Damn it.
He gets this from his Father. Oliver’s less interested in the giant turtles in front of him, instead he’s focused on pointing out the deficiencies in the ceiling to his Dad.
I’m just going to have to stop looking at these…I mean, both on them…in one frame…
And again…this is like a cruel, cruel trick. Like the people who give out raisins for Halloween.
Oh thank goodness, a stink face I can snicker lovingly at.
I’m not sure if he thought this was real…
Or hoped that it was.
At least he didn’t scream.
He did not like whatever that elephant just did. Which I think was scratch he butt on a pole.
This is how my boy eats. Ok, not really, at least not often. Ok, ok, not all the time. Just once in a while, when he’s really hungry.
This is what happens when you say no to Oliver. Yeah, we know, we’ve screwed something up here.
Right now Oliver and grandma are peacock stalking. It’s, like, totally the newest thing.
This is really getting to be too much.
Do you see this man? This is my husband, father of my 10,000 future children. THIS is what I get to go to bed with every night. Good lord am I a lucky women.
Daddy’s checking out his old stomping ground (he was managing the renovations here before he switched companies).
DADDY!!!!! THE HIPPOS!!!
Oliver loves the hippos.
What Oliver doesn’t like is Mommy distracting him while he’s trying to look at the hippos.
Thanks Bo, you’re such a good sport. And just think, when you’re 102 you’ll be able to look back and see 84 pictures that I’ve taken of you sitting on this hippo at the zoo. Lucky guy!
Oliver trying to get the hippo to talk.
Did that hippo just TALK to me?
I don’t think I’m ok with this…
Nope, I was wrong, I’m cool with it.
My loins are in a very bad place right now. I think we should have 15 more just like him, so I can watch Bo do this 15 more times.
Daddy, leave me alone…I’m watching Hippos!
Daddy, can you please tell Mommy to stop taking so many damn picture. No Oliver, he can’t, because Mommy wears the pants in this relationship.
Grandma didn’t estimate the height of this log accurately. Snicker.
Woot! We’re out!
This girl seems to be stalking my boy.
She keeps popping up, with her very nice mom, but she’s clearly got her sights set on my boy.
This is happening all too often, and I’m not ready for it yet. Shouldn’t I at least have until he’s a teen ager..
You can tell, she’s older too. Cougars, my son has cougars after him! Already!
No Oliver, you can not have a skunk. I don’t care how cute you think it is.
Grandma decided to try and make up for the lunch time “no” with some airplane time.
Oliver’s very forgiving.
Alright, seriously now, I’ve got to go.
Daddy hugs are the best hugs.
It’s still no to that skunk Oliver.
Bak to the carousel before heading home.
Alright, alright, no more pictures.
After this one.
And this one.
It really was a fantastic day.
Let me know below!
