Sometimes…ok…at least weekly, all you need is a lazy day. I don’t even know what it is with this week, but to me it feels like it has just been dragging on and on and on. Monday felt like Tuesday, Tuesday like Thursday, and Wednesday, well, I woke up thinking it should be Saturday. By the way, that is, hands down, the worst way to wake up in the morning. So, for our lazy day Oliver and I started off with some waffles. Not the fancy kind either. Today, on this lazy day, I threw in a couple of eggos.
Eggos are the corner stone of a good lazy day.
Then I kind of ruined the lazy day by making this granola. It was a quick little blip on our day though, and oh so worth it for our afternoon snack. And breakfast accompaniment for the rest of the week. And yogurt topping. And I forgot that I’m not a granola salesmen. And that this isn’t actually a sales pitch post. Back to regular programing.
While the granola was cooking and Anna was sleeping Oliver and I got our colour on.
My boy child loves putting the outline of his hand to paper. Up until this point he’s needed Bo or I to help him with it. Today though, he did it on his own. Yes, I can acknowledge that this is a ridiculous thing to be proud of. But I am. I’m also proud of him every time he does something that gives me a heart attack (we’ll get to that soon enough). What can I say.
Moving on from markers to crayons. We’re an equal opportunity colouring family.
And now for a lesson in the many faces of Oliver. And the many reasons that he is the one and only Goof.
Ohhhhh, you crazy.
*teeth suck* Mommy please.
You won’t like me when I’m angry.
Remember that heart attach I told you about? Here’s the lead up…
And here’s the aftermath.
What? You can’t quite figure out what just happened there? No problem. This video should explain everything. Just do me a favor and ignore that crazy lady who was encouraging him the entire time. As soon as I figure out who that is, they’re in a whack of trouble.
After my heart attack we had some grilled cheese for lunch and Oliver went down for his nap. Just in time for Anna to wake up. After Anna had her lunch it was time for some play time on the mat.
Just look at those eyes
She really likes this little musical dog thing. In fact, it might even be love.
And that was pretty much it. The afternoon was spent cleaning up from the morning and cooking dinner (Russian mustard glazed ham and Oven roasted potato slices, recipes to come, at some point).
The night was pretty good too though. After dinner I went AWOL all by my lonesome, all the way to Dairy Queen for a Pumpkin Pie blizzard. Probably the number one reason why October is my favorite month. Between pumpkin pie blizzards and the now annual trip to the pumpkin patch it just can’t be beat.
