Did you know that you’re supposed to clean your dishwasher?
Wait, let’s take a step back. Did you know that you COULD clean your dishwasher?
I had no clue that this was an option. I’m not that new at the whole homemaker thing (we’re going on 9 years here). I’m also not new at the whole dishwasher thing (which may be part of the problem). See, we’ve lived in our current house for almost six years. We’ve had our dishwasher for almost six years. Our six year-old dishwasher had developed an odour that I just thought was typical of dishwashers. Like teenagers. “Oh, that smell, that’s just dishwasher, you know how stinky dishwashers get”. Ummm, apparently not.
I honestly believed that it was normal until I heard about Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner. I mean, I rinsed my plates, put them in the dishwasher, ran the cycle, and everything came out clean. Except the dishwasher itself. I’m already a loyal lover of finish dishwasher tablets, so I was pretty quick to jump on the dishwasher cleaner (once I knew it existed).
Turns out, that musty smell was coming from all those hidden parts that were keeping little bits of grease and lime scale in them (you know, those little pipes, filters, and spray arms that are the MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF YOUR DISHWASHER?). I was starting to feel like a bit of a fool for not having thought of this before.
So, next trip to the grocery store I picked up a bottle of Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner (it’s sold basically everywhere for about $4.99: Loblaws, Walmart, RCSS, Canadian Tire, No Frills, Sobeys, Metro, Food Basics, Fresh Co).
Highlight of my day: it was insanely easy to use. I didn’t even have to unscrew the top and risk spilling cleaner all over the floor because I tripped over a toy, or a child (happens more than you’d think). You just pull the little sticker off the lid, and put it upside down in your bottom rack (the sticker covers a wax plug, so no leakage until it’s hit with the hot water!). That’s it. Run the dishwasher on your hottest setting and…
Nothing! The best kind of nothing! No lime scale anywhere inside the machine. No little bits of anything stuck to the holes of my sprayer arms any more, and NO MORE ANNOYING SMELL! No more gross, musty, old food smell.
Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner has a powerful formula with 5x Power Actions that help maintain your machine, remove limescale, clear grease, clean hidden parts and freshen your dishwasher. They recommend using it once a month to keep your dishwasher in top form. I am definitely going to be following this #nomoremustysmell.
Plus, if having a sparkling, fresh smelling dishwasher wasn’t enough, Finish® wants one of their users to get a break from washing any dishes with a Caribbean Spa Getaway! All you have to do to enter is try out the Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner and leave a review on their Facebook page!
